Thanks John. I get between 3 and 4 thousand downloads a month, half of which are for the latest episode. It depends on which sites pick up and promote each episode (as I do little to no promotion myself). www.dnbsets.de is currently my largest referrer of traffic and contributes up to 40% of my visitors. Their spider sometimes picks up my mixes when I post new ones on www.dogsonacid.com.
So, this particular mix is something special. I have listened to it over and over. The Crystal Fighters remix at the end sounded like Kate Bush if I didnt know better. This is the best mix you have done so far, with the singular exception of #88, which sets the standard. That one will be tough to beat, but this is close.
Also, I kindof have a curious request...I was listening to #97 the other day, with the Funk Soul Brothers song...DJ Mulder or something I think it is..heard it a million times, but was surprised to hear you play it on that mix. I loved that sort of sound, and its been many years since it was king. Have you done a melodic mix that mostly includes those sorts of simple bass sounds? For me it's the simplicity of those sorts of sounds, which are tuneful, but not completely out of whack like some of Aphrodite's tracks. I'd love to hear a melodic mix with wacky-ass bass sounds, things that make me go "what the fuck?" but which don't sound completely random.
Anyways, the last mix is my fav so far (except 88); I've played it at a number of bars in San Francisco and people love it.
